Our small, country church has been donating shoe boxes to Samaritan's Purse for a number of years. Recently, Franklin Graham's "compensation" from Samaritan's Purse has been brought to light along with his salary from the Graham Foundation. How can we verify supporting the shoe box collection? Please help.

Vonda,

I am not entirely sure what you mean by your question but I will take a stab at it. If you are asking how you can be sure that the donation you are making is being used appropriately, we believe there are three critical areas to look at in the charity - 1) Financial health, 2) Accountability and 3) Outcomes. I can not go into detail on this here but you will find lots of information about all of this on this blog site. There will be much more on 2 & 3 in the months to come.

Also, I would be happy to talk to you about the particulars of your situation. Please feel free to email me at kberger@charitynavigator.org or call our office (201-818-1288) and we can set up a time to talk.
