I feel sorry for the people in Haiti my heart goes out to them it really does. But we in the United States have people living in the streets;Senior Citizens that can't afford there Medications and we didn't even get a raise this year in our Social Secuity. What about HEAP?We can only get it Twice this year as cold as it's been. How are we going to afford to live? What about us?

The amount of money that is donated to international charities in the US is 4% of the annual total.
The concern you raise is usually more directed at government international aid. You may want to check out a book called Dead Aid by Dambisa Moyo.
